Our "tenant houses", as they are locally known, have been
acquired from a number of local plantation owners in an
effort to preserve a piece of history, with each one bearing
the name of its original location, previous owner or occupant.
Each house has both a front and back porch and each porch is
accented with bare bulb porch lights. Situated in the country
five miles from urban activity, the silence is deafening
and makes for a most relaxing experience, day or night.
An active railroad track within whistle distance makes your
stay a memorable and relaxing country experience.
The night times are extraordinarily relaxing and the sleeping
is phenomenal, especially in rainy weather, due to
the tin roof on each flat. Each flat sleeps from 2 to 4 people,
depending on the flat. Some houses have king-size beds and
some have full-size beds.
The larger houses are also equipped with additional beds,
such as twin size beds and convertible sofa-beds.
Most contain a mix of more than one bed size. Each one has
been updated with indoor plumbing, heat and air conditioning
and furnished with 1940’s rural America in mind. In addition,
each flat is equipped with a fully-functional kitchen
that includes a stove, microwave and a refrigerator.
For extended stays, maid service is available upon your request.
